Quack Doctor, Nurse In Police Net

A 45-year old quack medical doctor is now in the police net in connection with the murder of a pregnant woman Pone Ronke Sunday who he performed abortion on sometime last week .

Ogunbowale Taiwo , a school certificate holder in Ibadan from Modakeke in Osun State who was paraded by the Oyo State Police yesterday was alleged to have perpetrated the heinous crime at his unregistered clinic , Tireni Oluwa Maternity at Gbelekale area of the state capital.

Also paraded by the police was Toyin Adediran 21, an auxillary nurse serving in the maternity alleged to have been part of the team that carried out the abortion on the late pregnant woman while others are now at large.

According to the police Image Maker, ASP Bisi Okuwobi when Ogunbowale who is popularly called “doctor” noticed that the operation had failed he (doctor) quickly organised a vehicle to transfer the patient to the University College Hospital but luck ran against him as Ronke gave up the ghost just as the vehicle was at the main entrance of the hospital .

Speaking to the newsmen, Ogunbowale confessed to the crime saying was his first time attempt.

He told journalists that the late pregnant woman was brought to his maternity by her mother with intent to terminate the five-month old pregnancy .

Ogunbowale who looked disturbed , confessed that out of the N3,000 he billed the mother of the deceased only N2,500 was paid before the failed abortion was carried out by him.

While regretting his action , the suspect said “ I never thought that that would be the end of operation.”
In her own confession, Toyin Adediran a nursing mother regretted her action.
