The striker will miss Thursday’s Europa League clash with Besiktas after Tottenham confirmed they have allowed him to take time off
Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return home to Africa due to “personal reasons” and will therefore miss Tottenham’s Europa League clash with Besiktas.
The Togo international has yet to feature for Spurs since returning from international duty in November and has not been named in the matchday squad for any of the north London club’s last six games.
“We can confirm that Emmanuel Adebayor has been given permission to return home for personal reasons,” read a statement from Tottenham.
“This is a private matter and so we will not be providing any further comment.”
There was better news for Spurs elsewhere, though, with Kyle Walker included in the squad to face Besiktas as he looks to make his first appearance since March having undergone surgery in the summer.
