ADO-EKITI – A 38-year-old man, Victor Ilesanmi has approached an Ado-Ekiti Customary Court, seeking dissolution of his 8-year-old marriage to his wife, Omobola, over allegation of threat to life, disrespect, among others.
The case first came up for mention on August 8.
Victor listed other reasons for seeking the dissolution of the marriage to include: “ lack of rest of mind and lack of care for their only child.’’
He also said that he was responsible for house chores and doubt if his wife can ever change.
Omobola,35, however, denied all the allegations leveled against her, saying she “gives her husband due respect.’’
She said when she delivered her child through caesarian operation; her family was responsible for the welfare of the child.
Omobola said she was responsible for the child’s upbringing and the payment of school fees.
She told the court that her husband was not a responsible man, because he does not stay at home, and does not bothered about the welfare of the child.
Omobola prayed the court to award her the custody of the child, since she had been responsible for the upkeep of the child.
The President of the Court, Mr Joseph Ogunsemi adjourned the case till December 12 for judgment.
