BENIN CITY – A leading Microfinance institution in Nigeria, Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO) at the weekend in Benin City, rewarded a total of four hundred and fifty-one (451) of its hardworking and dedicated staff who have spent various lengths of years with the organisation.
According to the Managing Director/CEO of LAPO, Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, whose address was delivered at the occasion by the Executive Director, LAPO, and Chairperson, Welfare Committee of the 2014 Staff Awards Presentation ceremony, Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, the Awardees were honoured for their immense contribution to the outstanding successes recorded by LAPO over the years.
He said while a total of 408 staff members received long service awards for their 5 to 25 years of service, 43 others were honoured with performance awards for excellent and outstanding services to the organisation; from across the various regions.
Ehigiamusoe thanked them for their commitment and dedication to duty and sued for sustenance.
The LAPO Managing Director recalled that as at November 2014, the organisation had empowered 1,423,209 clients with financial and social services, while LAPO Microfinance Bank (MFB) disbursed a total of N85,398,932,597 as loan to clients, noting that the feat would not have been possible without the efforts of the awardees.
The Executive Director, LAPO, Sabina Idowu-Osehobo, was among the long-serving recipient staff who have put in 15 years of service, while young Mr. Ehigiator Abraham of Ore 2 Branch in Ondo region, and a Chief Support Officer, won the 2014 overall Best performing staff award.  All the recipients were given various prizes and parting gifts as mark of appreciation from LAPO.
