WHETHER the plant is to heal the body or the spirit or whether, it is part of an apprenticeship. What makes it work is your good intention towards the plant. They are beings which have their own forms or they can be like human beings with faces and bodies. When the spirit accepts the persons that have the will, the spirit grants them energy.
The path to knowledge opens and the healing takes place Herbs have been used throughout the ages not just for heir culinary flavouring, in the use of magic and healing. Certain herbs and plants are prized for their special range of magical and healing properties.
Herbs were used in portions, incenses and amulets toward off evil, attract prosperity and give protection and to heal all manner of illnesses.
In ancient times when herbs were added to foods, they were primarily included for their magical or medicinal propertied rather than for their flavour. Therefore, herbs are gifts that nature has to offer us.
Herbs can be used for: Purification, protection, banishing, divination, evoking and casting of spells. In magic, herbs such as flowers and plants are used for several purposes, such as listed above.
Herbalism is the way of life that puts us back on the path to oneness with the Most High God. In Ancient African Herbalism, the healing spirits of the herbs are used to heal one physically, mentally and spiritually. Just by being in the physical presence of the herbs or tree, the medicinal properties of the plants are transmitted directly into the body by the plants without you picking a leaf, flower or any part of the plant.
Indians and African people also, pick the fresh herb and brush down the ailing person with it, thereby, driving out negative vibrations and other evil forces and transmitting the nutritional and medicinal properties of the plant through the linking of the plant and patients via the universal magnetism. This is one of the natural forces of nature, which is a manifestation of the Most High God. If you check your blood, you will find elements of plants in your bloodstream.
Plants are in total harmony with the laws of the Almighty, they rise up with the sun, (blooms) and go down with the sun, receiving the life-giving, rejuvenating forces of nature. In so doing, they give thanks and praise to the Most High and receive the blessings of the healing spirits of the universe which is at its peak early in the morning before and during sunrise.
The healing forces are the manifestations of the Most High and will bring us back to our natural state of good health. Rising with the sun is the first step in getting back in harmony with nature and the Almighty. So, we can get the healing spirits of the herbs without making teas, tinctures, etc, just by being in the presence of the herbs. In order to receive the 100 percent healing spirit of the herbs, we have to be in harmony with the laws of the Most High. Outside of that, we have to go to the level of using the herbs as teas, tinctures, etc., using certain traditional rules that governs harvesting, curing etc.
For best results, herbs should be picked in harmony with their ruling planets and the movement of the heavenly bodies. Moon, sun, sings etc. if you do not know the ruling planets or signs of the herbs, use the sun and moon alone.
When harvesting herbs, one should do so with love and kindness. Let the plant know what you want, then, it will give it freely. However, if you break off a branch or leaf without letting the plant know, then at the touch, that plant will draw all its elements to the root, leaving you with just some leaves in your hands.
Herbs should be picked on the full moon and just after sunrise. The magnetic pull of the full moon and rising sun, draws all the elements from the roots to the leaves. Herbs should also, be harvested when in bloom, just before, going to seed or fruit.
Roots: should be harvested on the waning moon, in spring time before blooming, just before sunrise or sunset.
Bark: should be harvested on the full moon, in the fall or spring time after sunrise. Remember, wild herbs are superior to cultivated herbs and should be used if possible.
Naturally, in the plant kingdom, most herbs have male and female species. In most cases, the female plant is used, but in some cases, specific genders are used for specific ailments in male and female. This is another side of herbalism that’s not adhered to and makes a difference. This is another aspect that one should look into when harvesting as well.
There are also, certain plants for the use of women only and some for men only.
The first medical knowledge or method of curing disease after the fall of mankind was the use of herbs, roots, barks, berries, fruits etc, sunlight, natural magnetism, moonlight, dew water, starlight, crystals and other stone.
After, man started to eat dead meat (animal flesh) and upset the entire balance of nature, bringing about the system of one species eating another or the dog-eats-dog, survival of the fittest. This introduced ailments like leprosy, tumours, cancers etc and a new system of healing was practiced by the ancient Ethiopians, called Egyptians by the Greeks. That system was known as dietetics or using the diet to bring about healing.
A popular saying used by African doctors, which was coined by imhotep the wise is. “Let your food be your medicine and your medicine your food”. This saying was later copied by Hippocrates, the father of western medicine, who was taught everything he knew by African physicians.
All herbs have spirits and different herbs are at different levels of spiritual development which make the healing spirit of one herbs stronger than another.  There are many ways of releasing and using the healing spirits of herbs which are constantly being radiated from all plants. One can absorb the healing spirit by inhaling the aroma of the herbs, taking a bush smoke or steam bath, brushing down one’s body with fresh herbs etc.
Also, smoking some herbs to lesser degree, by drinking herb teas alone, one gets a healing and cleansing of the physical structure but, that does not uplift the mind to the level of bringing one in harmony with the universal mind.
Some highly developed herbs spiritually are: spirit weed, Jamaican wild sweet basil, mugworts, tansy,  searchmi-heart, rue, cannabis etc.
The superiority of herbs is related to their natural purity, herbs and plants are most effective when used in their natural, balanced state.
Herbalists believe that the body can heal itself using natural herbal therapy to activate the body’s own self healing powers.
An herb is a living substance and has its own constellation of energy. There is a common thread that joins these systems, all of these systems treat the body as a whole and they each utilize the energy of plants to work as needed, in synergy with the natural energy in each individual capitalization. The energy is known by many names: the life force, chi, prana and also, vital energy. So, herbal medicine is to keep energy flowing correctly or if flow is improper, to return it to its natural path.
The herbalist role is not so much attack disease, but, maintain natural flow of energy. Disease is the blocking of natural vital energy. Herbalist therefore work to restore balance in the body. Peace and joy.
