Abuja – Mr Akinlolu Olujimi, Counsel to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state Election Petition Tribunal, has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the tribunal sitting in Abuja.
“I am satisfied with the tribunal; so far so good.
“As of now, 14 witnesses have given their testimonies; they have said what they saw.
“More witnesses are still coming, they will also give their own view when it is their turn,’’Olujimi, told the newsmen on Friday in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalled that the APC and its candidate, Dr Dakuku Peterside had filed a petition before the tribunal seeking the nullification of the election on the ground that it was marked by irregularities and fraudulent practices.
Olujimi said that the petitioners were willing to call more than 1,000 witnesses if the time permits, adding that he was confidence of victory at the end of the process.
Mr Chris Uche, counsel to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the 3rd respondent in the petition, also told newsmen that his client was sure of victory.
