BENIN CITY – Edo State House of Assembly has confirmed Mr. Kassim Afegbua as Commissioner in the state.
The confirmation was sequel to the consideration of the report on his screening submitted by the House Chairman on Rules Business and Government House, Hon. Foly Ogendegbe to parliament for consideration.
Moving the motion for his confirmation, Ogendegbe said the nominee who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language from the University of Lagos was a Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs to Governor Adams Oshiomhole until yesterday.
The Lawmaker further said that the nominee who was a Protocol Officer to a former Inspector-General of Police functioned as a media Spokesman to General Ibrahim Babaginda.
Parliament unanimously adopted the one-point recommendation of the report of the committee that Mr. Afegbua be confirmed as a Commissioner in the state.
Meanwhile, the House has also confirmed Mr. Sunday Iyamu as a Director representing Orhionmwon Local Government Area in the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Area Commission EDSOGPADEC following his screening by the House Committee on Rules, Business and Government House.
