Benin City – In compliance with the State Government Directives geared towards restoring sanity and ensuring free flow of traffic within Benin Metropolis, the honourable Commissioner for Transport, Barr. Isimeme Iriogbe yesterday led officials of the Ministry and, Head, Edo State Traffic 3

clamp down on road Traffic Violators and Street Traders on Kings Square, Mission Road and New Benin axis.

Motorists who parked illegally along Mission road and Kings Square, had their tyres deflated and vehicles impounded while traders trading on walk-ways had their wares and goods seized by EDSTMA officers who vowed that the goods would be burnt and the offenders sanctioned to enforce compliance with the State Government regulation.

Barr Iriogbe warned motorists and those who trade on walk-ways to desist from violating Government Directives and urged them to ensure absolute compliance with the government order to make the road obstruction free.

He stated that the Ministry was determined to stop the conversion of major roads to illegal private motor parks in the state.

The MD/CEO of EDSTMA, Augustine Evbakhavbokun also maintained that the encroachment on walk-ways will not be tolerated by EDSTMA.
