BENIN CITY – As part of measures to check examination malpractice, the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has introduced the Computer Based Test (CBT) for its exams.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Benin City yesterday while announcing the release of the results of the November/December 2015 NABTEB examinations.  The  Registrar/Chief Executive of NABTEB, Dr. Olatunde Aworonti said CBT would made candidates work independently.
The examinations were for the National Business Certificate/National Technical Certificate NBC/NTC and the Advanced National Business Certificate/Advanced National Technical Certificate (ANBC/ANTC).
According to him, CBT would also reflect the true state of candidates performance, given its (CBT) biometric features.
He disclosed that out of the 82,534 candidates that sat for the examination, 10,898 of them representing 14.21 percent scored five credits and above in English Language and Mathematics.
Dr. Aworanti also disclosed that 19,172 candidates representing 25 per cent had five credits and above with or without English Language and Mathematics.
He said the 84,268 enrolment figure is still very far below expectation considering the nation’s quest for rapid technological development and the significant role of Technical and Vocational Education Training in Nigeria.
As part of measures to improve on the situation, he advocated for more collaborative partnership between public and private sectors in funding technical and vocational education.
He also advocated that admission policies for post-secondary institutions be made favourable to product of technical and vocational education.
