BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has called prayers to make the current economic recession in Nigeria go with the year 2016 and become a thing of the past so that we enter 2017 afresh.

The Governor, represented by the State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, made the call when the General Superintendent, Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Williams Kumuyi paid a courtesy visit to Government House, Benin City Tuesday.

According to him, “The recession will go with the past so our people will be better for it because government is only useful when the people rejoice.”

Attributing the peace and safety in the September, 2016 Governorship election in Edo State to the prayers of the cleric, he noted that the coming of General Superintendent to the state for the church programme, which has as its theme, Showers of  Blessings,” could not have come at a better time than now pointing out that we have a new king, Oba Ewuare II, we have a new government and now we have the visit of the Pastor Kumuyi.
