Ogbomosho -Players and crew of Bendel Insurance Football club of Benin were at the weekend attacked in Ogbomosho during the match day 24 game of the Nigeria National League, against Crown FC of Ogbomosho.
Trouble started on the pitch in the second half of the game after a bad tackle against Crown Fc player by one of Bendel Insurance players, which infuriated the Crown FC players and resulted in a free for all fight.
The crew of the visiting team was also not spared by the angry home team and supporters as two Bendel Insurance Cameramen were also attacked for filming the incident, while the technical crew members took cover in the dressing room.
One of the team’s cameramen Solomon Ajayi who spoke with our reporter on phone narrated their ordeal.
The game however continued after the situation was later brought under control by security agents, as Crown FC added two more goals to their one goal lead to take the game beyond the Benin side with 3 – 0 maximum points.
