BENIN CITY – Edo State Governor Mr. Godwin Obaseki has advocated a closer synergy between his administration and that of the European Union on Niger-Delta Support Programme (NDSP) to avoid unnecessary duplication of efforts to guarantee sustainable development especially in the areas of water sanitation and to check illegal migration.

He made this known when he received European Union (EU) delegation on a working visit to the state in Government House, Benin City, the Edo State Capital.

Obaseki said his administration will get other donor agencies to work with agencies set up by his administration to avoid duplication and waste. “We must get our donor agencies to work together with us to avoid duplication and waste and that those programme should be tired to our own internal reform programmes that are our priorities and will make us provide more services for the people”.

He said he was made to understand that the funding for migration is available and his administration was working hard internally to link the reforms ideas into programmes that could help his administration access the fund to create more economic and capacity opportunities in the state to discourage migration.
