BENIN CITY- Hon. Osaze Osemwegie-Ero, Edo State Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, has promised that the state government under the leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki will ensure that the rich cultural heritage of the people of the state will be given the promotion its deserves as one of the cardinal programmes of the administration.

The Commissioner stated this after watching the impeccable performances put together by artistes who participated in the second edition of Edo Music Achievement Awards and Legends Son’s Concert held at the Uyi Grand Event Centre in Benin midweek.

In this regard he promised that the government will henceforth partner with those who set out to showcase the cultural values of the people.
He however commended the organisers of the show, 24 Bits, based in the United Kingdom, for their near perfect organisational skills.

Speaking with The Nigerian OBSERVER. Dickson Igbinosun, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 24 Bits and also financier of the show, said that he developed the concept of the show as a way of promoting the rich cultural heritage of Edo State; to ginger the interest of the younger generation to embrace Edo cultural values and to also give honour to veteran music stars who have kept the flag flying all these while without been accorded the recognition due to them.

He promised that the next edition of the show would be a notch better than the two previous editions.
Some of the sons and daughters of Edo Music legends who thrilled the audience that night included May Alile, Iredia Bayo Ade and Jack Osula.
