ASABA – Delta Police anti-robbery squad has busted a syndicate of armed robbery gang terrorizing, Ughelli, Warri, Udu and arrested an 80 years old armorer and notorious armed Robbery Suspect by tracking down the syndicate, through one of the Nokia phone robbed from their victim.

The State Police Commissioner, Mr. Adeyinka Adeleke who confirmed the arrest of the suspects, gave thier names as Udenmba Udu Ben, from Eskusigo Council of Anambra State and a 32 year – old Emmanuel Patrick who hails Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

Adeleke said they were arrested with a pump action gun with seven cartridges.

The suspects, the CP added, confessed to the crime through discreet investigation.

According to the Police Boss, Emmanuel Patrick “admitted partaking in three armed robbery operations at Uvwie, Ughelli and Udu, before he led the police to the gangs armory where two other pump action guns, four double barrel guns, one single barrel gun, one Air gun, two hundred and seventy four cartridges, two bullet proofs and four bullet kolder were recovered.

For the 80 years armour, the CP said he admitted being in charge of servicing of the gangs arms and also supply them with ammunitions.

The armourer (suspect) said he does not manufacture guns, but repairs, buys and sells arms and ammunitions.

Adeleke, however, stressed that the Police are intensifying effort towards arresting the other fleeing gang members anywhere in the State even as he gave “a warning signal to all criminals in the command that there is no safe haven for them as no stone will be left unturned to ensure that all criminals in any guise are brought to book”.

To achieve this, the CP said he was going to _employ every available security apparatus to rid the state of all forms of crimes and criminalities”, safety and security of the State.
