ASABA – One feared dead as Police and members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) clashed yesterday along Nnebisi road, Asaba, Delta State.

It was gathered that the IPOB members staged a peaceful protest in Asaba, the State capital, but the Police  immediately intervened to disperse the IPOB.

Though, the cause of the protest was not known, the victim was reportedly shot by the police in the process of dispersing the IPOB members.

The Assitant Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chuks Orisewezie (APPRO) said when contacted that the command has arrested four IPOB members, but     one of them was seriously wounded
According to the APPRO,  “The IPOB members this morning (yesterday) started protesting and attacking our men at A Division, Asaba, and in the process they were nabbed.

He said “They assembled at Lagos- Asaba expressway, and later marched to Nnebisi road to launch attack at the police station”

Orisewezie declared that a pump action gun, four jack knives, charms, a Biafran flag and cans of fuel purportedly to raze down the A’ Division police station were recovered from them.
