BENIN CITY – Bendel Insurance FC of Benin yesterday defeated a benin based amateur team Mission Side FC 3-1 to extend their Preseason friendly win to four in a row.
Ojo Tolulope gave Insurance the lead with a decisive header from a well taken corner by Zeidu 20 minutes into the game.
Zeidu in his aggressive drive in the midfield opened the wall of Mission side and brilliantly slotted it in to make it two goals for the Benin arsenal before the end of first half.
The Benin arsenal continued to mesmerise their visitors in the second half till Uche Ifeanyi made it 3-0 in the 66th minute.
The visitors ,however, refused to succumb totally as they fought back with Alegun David’s 76 minutes goal against Insurance following a defensive error.
The game with the previous ones, according to the Technical Manager of Bendel Insurance, Benard Ogbe, are meant to keep the team in shape as well as to give new players opportunity to show their worth ahead of the new football season.
Meanwhile, the Insurers will be up against Sapele Lions of Delta state tomorrow at the University of Benin Sports Complex in another friendly.
