BENIN CITY – The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Oil and Gas Producing Areas Development Commission, EDSOGPADEC, Pastor Kennedy Osifo, has expressed satisfaction on the construction of roads as well as renovation of dilapidated projects which the commision currently embarked on in the three Local Government Oil and Gas Producing Areas in the state, attributing the success to the pragmatic dispositions of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s good governance to the people.

It would be recalled that the commission has recently begun the construction of the Benin-Abraka road starting from Aifuwa Street Junction linking Evboesi – Urhehue-Umoghun N’okhua- Obozogbe N’ugu – Ikobi-Oben – Iguelaba communities in Orhionmwon Local Government Area, which according to the chairman is being handled through the collaboration of the Edo State Government, Edo State Office of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, with his office (EDSOGPADEC).

He added that Saint Savior road to Avbiama village down to the by-pass and the recent completion of the Musheshe (Igiozee) Street which terminated at Saint Savior Road from Upper Sokponba Road, the completion of about 25 adjoining streets linking Erediauwa road and clearing, silting| clogging of the moat at upper Erediauwa road Ugbekun Quarters all in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area as well as the construction of 10-55KM road project linking Oduna – Iboro – Eghudo and Ekenwan communities in Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state are set to be commissioned since it was awarded in March 2012 and has reached 900/0 completion.

These roads construction projects and the ongoing renovation of dilapidated projects, according to the chairman were first embarked on by the former board but was not completed neither to be handed over to the host communities, positing that immediately after the board was inaugurated in 2018, it swung into action to complement the transformational agenda of this present administration of Mr. Godwin Obaseki led government.

But applauding the developments, residents and elders of various communities in the three oil and gas producing local government areas, showered encomium on the leadership of this new board and the Executive Governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, for their selfless but focused dispositions in bringing good governance which had remained the benchmarks of this present government in the state.

They asserted that they have heaved a sigh of relief since the coming on board of this new management, whom they said, had brought respites to them, pointing out that this development has brought promotion of viable economic activities to their areas, just as they expressed their appreciation to Gov. Obaseki for deeming it fit to appoint competent and honest members into the board.
