WARRI – It was a black Sunday at Otu-Jeremi, (Otughievwen) in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State when qq a woman was reportedly clubbed to death by one Mr. Kenneth Lupor Mukoro , a pastor.
The incident occurred at about 6:30pm at Aruorho Quarters of Otu-Jeremi, traditional/administrative headquarters of Ughievwen Kingdom and Ughelli South.
It gathered that the incident took place when the deceased was trying mediate during a heated argument between the suspect, a Delta State University, ( DELSU ) Law graduate and his neighbour.
The deceased, Mrs. Irene Thompson Kupa, of the Isoko extraction in the state , while trying to broker peace between Kenneth who is also a youth pastor in a Pentecostal Church and his neighbour, was hit by the suspect on the head with a wood.
The deceased who was rushed to the Otu-Jeremi General Hospital before being referred to another hospital in Warri reportedly gave up the ghost on the way to the hospital.
Police operatives at the Otu-Jeremi Divisional Police Station were said to have apprehended the suspect , who is said to be warming up to contest the forthcoming chairmanship election of Otughievwen community.
When contacted on Monday, the state commissioner of police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke, confirmed the incident.
Adeleke, however, could not confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
However, sources at the Ughelli Police Area Command confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
