BENIN CITY – The leadership and members of the Neo Black Movement, (NBM) of Africa, Benin Zone, have congratulated the Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, Benin Royal family and the people of Edo State on this year’s Ugie Festival which commenced last Thursday in Benin City.

The felicitation message was contained in a statement issued by the President in Charge of NBM Benin, Ambassador Osaretin Blessed, on behalf of the organisation, yesterday in Benin City

Ambassador Osaretin extolled what he described as pragmatic efforts and innate diplomatic acumen of the Oba of Benin in sustaining the development of culture and tradition of the people, saying the Benin Kingdom has experienced tremendous transmogrification that has returned the kingdom to its place of pride as the cultural and traditional hub of the black race in the comity of monarchies.

The Benin Zonal NBM President further maintained that the hope of the people for a tranquil and serene kingdom has been rekindled since the ascension of Oba Ewuare II as the 40th Oba of the great Benin Kingdom over three years ago, emphasising that the Oba came, saw and conquered chronic and aggravated vices which hitherto impeded the progress of the Kingdom.

The statement described Oba Ewuare II as not only a cultural icon with great developmental prowess, but quintessential and highly sagacious Oba, an epitome of generational leadership, patriotic, philanthropist and disciplinarian whose legacies will remain indelible in the minds of the people.

NBM Benin Zone prayed to God Almighty to continue to grant the revered monarch and his family good health, long life and abundant wisdom to enable him perfect the good work he had started in the kingdom, adding that the Oba of Benin had brought palpable respites to the people.

In a similar development, Ambassador Osaretin Blessed has advocated for a collective efforts in addressing insecurity in the state especially in this Yuletide season, just as he advised the youth to eschew any act that is capable of precipitating insecurity, citing recent security breaches in the state as unwarranted.

According to him, there is no sacrifice too big to make for peace, asserting that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour as crisis of what ever nature does not influence development in any way.

He assured that NBM is ready to partner with relevant agencies on security matter in the state and form a synergy with the security agencies to expose criminal elements working assiduously to torpedoe the peaceful atmosphere required before, during and after the yuletide season.
