BENIN CITY – The indigenes of kolokolo community in Ologbo dukedom have protested against the Inspector General of Police over the alleged continued removal of matters/cases of murder from Edo state Edo state police command.

In a statement signed by Elder Benson Ayokotse and four others they said the protest became very necessary over what they described as quantum unrest in Ologbo dukedom allegedly perpetuated by Johnson Atseruleghe with several killings, murder, adoption, quantum distruction, unconstituted traditional authority in the dukedom with the recent kidnapping of Kolokolo community youth leader Mr Sunny Etchie on the instruction of Atseruleghe.

According to the statement, the people arrested so far have made confession that they are responsible for the adoption the Sunny Etchie, which they dragged from IGP pipeline monitoring team at Ologbo with over 25 person on the instruction of Johnson Atseruleghe in the presence of Darlington Harrison, manager of Sunny Etchie who was able to recognize one Friday Omassan and Oluwasan who are currently in police custody at the headquarter of Edo Police command with useful confessional statement.

‘It is on record that several related cases of murder, adoption, civil unrest, etc against Atseruleghe and his gang has always resort to using the IGP office to make case dead on arrival. Enough is enough! E.g the last case that IG office came to the state CID legal office to transfer the aforementioned case before covid-19 of which the state have given recommendation for prosecution’

‘We are using this to call on the IGP to withdraw his IGP team from any case related to Johnson Atseruleghe, most especially in this case of Sunny Etchie and Ologbo dukedom. We are saying Atseruleghe and his gang should be charge to court by the Edo state police command for proper justice’

Meanwhile, Mr Roland Maye, an elder of the community said they issue has since be reported to the police and up till now the issue has not yielded any result.

Addressing the protesters at the entrance of the police command, the Police Public Relation, DSP Chidi Nwanbuzor told the protesters that the command does not no longer have the power to comment on the issue hence it has been transferred to the force headquarters.

He encourage the people to be prayerful why awaiting the response from force headquarters.
