BENIN CITY- A Senior special assistant to Edo state Governor on Digital media, Comrade Nosakhare Eguagie has said that Oshiomhole is only joining forces with other retrogressive forces to fight Edo state Governor, Mr Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki because he has surpassed the former governor’s developmental strideu in the governor’s first term which according to him has woken the minds of the Edo people to the realization that Oshiomhole decieved them all through his tenure with media jamboree.

Nosakhare said that since the inception of the Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration in November 2016, Edo state has experienced a huge transformation that has never been witnessed in a long time.

He pointed out that Governor Obaseki within the last 3 years had placed premium on human capacity development and deepening democracy which has revolutionized governance and improved productivity.

The governor’s aid stated this while fielding questions from journalists in Benin City recently.

Eguagie highlighted some achievements of the Governor Obaseki led administration to include the establishment of the Edo Innovation Hub, a model initiative which has helped to improve the skills of Edo youths, the reconstruction of the Government Science and Technical College to furnish our youths with relevant vocational skills, the establishment of the Edo Production Centre at Evbouriaria, Edo Jobs and Edo Innovates programs, the Edo Agripreneur initiative which has empowered Edo citizens to go back to agriculture, the reconstruction of the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium to a world class facility as well as the ban of the activities of street urchins popularly called Agberos and the infamous Community Development Associations (CDAs).

He frowned at a situation where the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole would allegedly joined other people who he said are hiding under the umbrella of the Edo People’s Movement (EPM) to destabilise the Governor Obaseki’s government on account of his refusal to maintain the status quo of sharing the state common patrimony.

In his words: “Comrade Oshiomhole is not happy that within a short time, Governor Obaseki has been able to achieve what he failed to do in 8 years which is the eradication of thuggery and the building of human capacity with his investment in human capacity training programmes’.

The governor’s media aid urged all well meaning Edo people to support the administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki as he has demonstrated that he has what it takes to position Edo along the path of sustainable development and progress.

He also maintained that he is confident that Governor Godwin Obaseki would secure victory in the forthcoming governorship election, especially as he opined that Obaseki has done well to be reelected by Edo people as his achievements over the last three years speaks for itself.
