AUCHI (EDO STATE) – The Edo State Polytechnic Usen is exploring avenues to partner with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) for the standardisation of vulcanising trade in Edo State.

The Rector of Edo State Polytechnic Usen, Prof. Abiodun Falodun is sequel to a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the Edo State Chapter of the National Association of Practicing Vulcanisers of Nigeria (NAPVON), to provide guidance and technical support for the standardisation of the trade in the state to eliminate quackery and protect the lives of road users.

According to him, “We are exploring relationship with the NBTE to evolve a means for standardising vulcanising in the state and by extension Nigeria.

“As a polytechnic, our mandate includes developing solutions to societal problems, especially in the deployment of technical expertise to make life simpler, better and more livable.

“The partnership with NAPVON is such that we would be liaising with the relevant bodies to the realisation of the objectives of those practicing the vocation as it provides a sense of coordination and order to their trade.”

Prof. Falodun added that more of such collaborations would be worked out to provide order and sanity to similar trades so they can better serve the Nigerian people.
