BENIN-CITY – Two businessmen in Ogheghe commmunity in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area and alleged victims of the internal crisis that rocked Obagie-Nevbuosa Commmunity, also in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, Chigozie Emenike and Bright Sunday, have decried the delay by the AIG of Police, Zone 5 to act on their petition to the AIG, Zone 5.

They have sent petitions to the AIG of Police, Zone 5 alleging attempted murder, armed robbery and breach of public peace by one Mr Osagie Enofe (alias Popori) and Emmanuel Aigbedo in Company of their gang members.

The petitions dated November 5, 2020 which was signed by O. G. Aienloshan Esq for O. G. Aienloshan and Co. were received at the AIG’s Office November 6, 2020.

The petitions made available to The Nigerian OBSERVER in Benin City were accompanied with medical reports from a private medical facility and a-9 paragraph affidavit each

The petitioners listed the gang members to include, Stephen Imadonmwinyi, Uyi Igiebor Festus Osadolor and Henry Emwinghare.

According to one of the petitions, sometime in September 23, 2020, Mr Enofe, in company of his gang members, on the order of Mr Stephen Imadomwinyi shot Chigozie Emenike at close range with gun on multiple parts of his body and later drove off, in the belief that he was dead, until Policemen came and took him to the private medical facility in Benin City for medical attention.

In the second petition, Mr. Bright Sunday alleged that on the same date, while going about his daily activities, one Mr Emmanuel Aigbedo, in company of his gang members and on the instructions Mr Stephen Imadonmwinyi shot Bright at close range with a gun, believing that Bright was dead.

The petitioners therefore appealed to the AIG, Zone 5 for discreet investigation and to bring the perpetrators to face Justice.

However, the Police Public Relations Officer, AIG Zone 5, Mr Tijani Momoh in a telephone interview confirmed receipt of the letter, but however added that the General Investigation unit was investigating the content of the petitions.

He said the Zone 5 office has not obtained statement from those mentioned in the petitions, even though they were earlier arrested due to a counter petition on the matter.

According to him, the matters were first reported at the New Etete Police division.

He disclosed that the Zone was waiting to get the opinion of the New Etete Police division to harmonise with the opinion of the Zone to be able to do a more thorough Job.
