ASABA – Newly promoted Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Ali on Wednesday evening assumed duty in Delta State Police Command, with a promise to leverage on the already existing security apparatus to fight crimes across the State.

According to a statement by the Command Public relations officer, DSP Oneme Onovughagbogaya, Ali, a thorough bred police officer took over the mantle of the command from the newly elevated AIG, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, who was redeployed to Zone 13.

The statement added that the State Police boss was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force on March 3, 1990 and attended the elite Police Academy Kaduna.

“Ali hails from Doma LGA of Nasarawa State, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Library/Political Science from the University of Maiduguri, a Master of Science in Industrial Relations from the Delta State University, Abraka and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Industrial Relations from Irish University Business School, Penbroke Square, UK”.

In the statement, the CP was discribed as a thorough bred professional Police Officer who brings intellectualism to bear on his operational activities and believes that fighting crime is a collective effort.

Mohammed Ali who was promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police on December 18, 2020, pledged to leverage on the existing security mechanism already in place towards enthroning the reign of peace and safety in Delta State.

He advised the public to always co-operate with the Police and other security agencies at all times.
