Benin – Ganiu Sani, Edo’s head coach for the Abuja game, says his team will win at least two gold medals in the event at the ongoing National Sports Festival (NSF).
Sani told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Benin that the state team would participate in the three categories of Abula at the 20th NSF.
NAN reports that Abula is a traditional sport recently approved and admitted into the NSF.
Sani listed the categories his team would participate in to include male, female and the mixed doubles, assuring that his athletes were well prepared for the festival.
“But for the state’s disqualification at the 19th NSF in Abuja, Edo would have clinched the three gold medals at stake then.
“This time, we are not only home but also well prepared for the games. I am very sure, to be modest, of winning at least two gold medals here at Edo 2020,” he said.
NAN reports that the 20th NSF, whose competition began on Sunday, will end on April 14.
