The Edo State Head of Service, Anthony Okungbowa, has felicitated with Edo workers on the celebration of Easter, urging them to emulate the exemplary life of selfless sacrifice, which Christ demonstrated in his death and resurrection.
Okungbowa, in a statement, hailed the governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki for demonstrating his love for the workers of Edo State and his avowed and unparalleled commitment to their welfare.
He noted: “I wish to felicitate with all Civil/Public Servants in the State, on the occasion of the commemoration of the death and triumphant resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“May I also use this opportunity to thank His Excellency Mr. Governor for, once again, demonstrating his love for the workers of Edo State and his avowed and unparalleled commitment to their welfare by the prompt payment of March, 2021 salaries for all categories of workers in the State which enabled them go into the Easter Break with smiles on their faces.
“I also wish to thank Mr. Governor for the consistent and prompt payment of the Minimum Wage in spite of the economic downturn in the Country, exacerbated by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic which has adversely affected national and sub-national Governments across the globe. Mr. Governor, you are truly God sent.
“As we celebrate Easter, I enjoin all workers to imbibe the lessons which the season brings. Christ’s selfless sacrifice of His life to liberate the world from the bondage of sin and death is a lesson in service which we all must emulate.”
“Just as His death inspires us to put Edo first for the greater good, His resurrection must assure us that with the right sacrifice, industry and passion, we shall, working with Mr. Governor, succeed in making Edo Great Again.”
