Warri – There is palpable tension as death toll continued to rise in the dispute between Otor – Iwhreko and Ekiugbo communities over the ownership and collection of levy in Ughelli main market in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

The crisis however took a new twist on Saturday as the head of a yet to be identified middle aged man severed from his body, was seen at one of the community’s junctions.

This is just as another victim of the crisis was set ablaze by unknown persons at FCMB roundabout in Ughelli.

It would be recalled that both communities have been at loggerheads for decades over who controls and collects levies from traders in the market which has resulted in a killing spree.

NIGERIAN OBSERVER gathered that, the crisis erupted again last Thursday when three persons, two men and a woman were shot dead.

Delta police spokesperson Dafe Bright , when contacted, promised to get back to our correspondent, but has not done so as at the time of filing this report.
