BENIN CITY – The Edo State Government has said it is conferring with the family of late Edo music maestro, Prof. Sir Victor Uwaifo on his burial arrangements.

In a statement, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Osaigbovo Iyoha, noted that the earlier announcement released on the burial didn’t correctly communicate the government’s role in Sir Victor Uwaifo’s burial.

According to him, “The Edo State Government is conferring with the Uwaifo family and providing support towards the burial of the late music icon.”

“The government is involved in the burial arrangement as Sir Uwaifo is an icon who placed the state on the global map. Government will be providing support for a befitting burial but has not committed to a state burial as was stated in a previous publication,” he added.
