Ugo-N’urokorionmwon — One Abubakar Bello has butchered to death a 29-year old commercial motorcyclist, Usman Mohammed from Niger state around Owe Community in Orhionmwon local area of Edo state and took away his bike.

The Nigerian Observer gathered, Bello had on the 21st of August deceived the deceased (Usman) who was already set to go for work, to transport him to Agbor from nearby Ugo-N’urokorionmwon community where they lived and worked together with others as farm labourers.

It was on the way to Agbor that Bello brought out a cutlass and started cutting the 29-year old until he overpowered him.

“them dey stay together and work together for Ugo here and na the labourer work the Usman (deceased) take gather money to buy the bike wen Bello thief.

“na job him be wan dey ready go before Bello deceive am say make him carry am go Agbor. So, na wen them dey go for road for Owe, na him draw cutlass com out, cut Usman hand comot before him butcher am, com carry him bike run comot”, a source narrated in Pigin at Ugo-n’urokorionmwon

Luck however run out of Bello at Agbede community in Etsako West local government area, where he stopped at a river to wash the stolen motorbike.

It was further gathered, some vigilant youths who were at the river at the time had noticed blood stains draping from the machine.

Bello, upon interrogation by the youths was suspected to have stolen the bike, and he was subsequently handed over to the police at Agbede division for further investigation.

According to a police source, the suspect was brought back from Agbede to Ugo police station where the incident was earlier reported, and one Anthony from same Niger state with the deceased was arrested, before they were transferred to the state police headquarters.

The source confirmed the police arrested Anthony following Bello’s confession that he sent him to commit the dastardly act.

Contacted, Head of the Muslim community in Orhionmwon, Alhaji Abdullahi Sule explained that the deceased corpse has been in the morgue “for more than two weeks”, as he ought to have been buried within 24-hours of his death according to muslim rite.
