“Golf is a very sociable sport. Some of our guests play golf and even those that don’t play golf, stay around, spend the weekend and unwind after a very tough summit.

“As you can see, golf is one of the sports that is closely followed globally. With the notable achievements of Tiger Woods, it became popular with African Americans and Africans and there is quite a lot of sponsorship and support.”

“Don’t forget, Edo is like a home of golf; one of the golf courses here was built when the British occupied here.”

On his part, Chairman, Alaghodaro Economic Summit LTD/GTE and Chairman, Sterling Bank, Dr. Asue Ighodalo said this year’s summit was to launch the 30-year development plan, which would see Edo become the Singapore of Nigeria.

He noted that when followed to the latter, the plan would help Edo become strong as a sub-national.
