WARRI – No fewer than eleven persons who were kidnapped Sunday evening by the Isoko Development Union Roundabout in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South council area of Delta state, have been promptly rescued.

NIGERIAN OBSERVER gathered that, the hoodlums struck the highway around 8pm, shooting sporadically.

A lady who claimed her sister-in-law escaped the attack, confirmed the development, stating that many escaped into nearby bushes, some sustained gunshot injuries and others were unfortunately, abducted.

“She left my house for Ozoro yesterday (Sunday) evening. Thank God they manage to escape through the bushes around.

“Though some others were not too lucky to escape as bullets hit some and some were taken away. She returned to my house last night without slippers,” she said.

However, security operatives who got wind of the attack were said to have rescued the victims.

Confirming the incident, Spokesman of Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, said, that all the victims were promptly rescued. He said,

“That incident occured in Oleh around IDU Roundabout. They were actually kidnapped, but due to the prompt response of our men, about 11 of them, were all rescued alive and unhurt.

“One person too was shot, but that person was rescued and is currently receiving treatment,”.
