Benin-City- A young man identified as Mr. Joshua Egharevba, who parades himself as a pharmacist and operates a Patent Medicine store around Upper Siluko Road, in Egor Local Government of Edo State, together with an auxiliary nurse identified as Jennifer Uzor, have been declared wanted over the death of one lady by name Patience Ugiagbe, who died from complications arising from an abortion carried out by Miss Jennifer Uzor.

Investigation revealed that the auxiliary nurse visited Mr. Joshua Egharevba’s Patent Medicine store on the 11th of November 2015, to buy some drugs, which included intravenous quinine, misoprostol tablets, menstrogen tablets and injections, which ordinarily were off the shelve drugs for a Patent Medicine store.

The Nurse was arrested on tip off from the sister of the deceased who told the Police that the sister mention the Nurse as the person that gave her the drugs. During interrogation Miss Jennifer mentioned Mr. Joshua Egharevba as the person that sold the drugs to her. The Auxiliary Nurse is being investigated for unlawful practice while Mr. Egharevba is also under investigation for possession of illegal drugs and impersonation.
A neighbors who claimed anonymity told our reporter that the Police came in the company of the said nurse to identify Joshua Egharevba as the person who dispensed the drugs used on the deceased. Mr. Joshua Egharevba was arrested as an accomplice.
National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPMED) the umbrella body under which Mr. Egharevba operates his Patent Medicine store, led by one Mr. Osaro approached the Edo State Police Command to secure the bail of Joshua Egharevba and signed a sureties to produce him when needed.

It was further revealed that the family of the deceased who were displeased with the release of Mr. Joshua mobilized and attacked the business premises, setting it ablaze and also went in search of Mr. Joshua.

The Police are currently on the trail of Mr. Joshua Egharevba and the Nurse for jumping bail, the National Association of Patent and Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPMED) that signed sureties for the bail are also looking for him, since the Police wants to arrest the leaders of the association who stood in for them.

Meanwhile the deceased family is seeking for justice and has renewed effort to apprehend Mr. Joshua and the Nurse and a bounty has been placed on their head.

The Police Authority is appealing to members of the public with useful information that will lead to the re-arrest of Mr. Joshua Egharevba and the Nurse, Miss Jennifer Uzor to come forward and will be handsomely rewarded.
