BENIN CITY – Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, has tasked Nigerian youths to acquire skills and develop their talents for self reliance and national growth.

The Deputy Governor made the remarks during the presentation of Edojobs Skillup Projects at the Government House, Benin City.

“Let me appeal to the youths to take advantage of the numerous programs initiated by Edo State Government by way of discovering their talents for a technological – driven economy”.

Shaibu noted that the State Government has set up several projects, ranging from Edojobs, creative industry, production center and technology hub to train youths to enable them activate their in-built talents for a technological-driven economy.

He commended the French Government and other critical partners for collaborating with Edo State Government, while urging the youths to take full advantage of the Edojobs Skillup Projects, to be equipped for future challenges.

Some beneficiaries of the project commended Edo State Government for the opportunity to discover their talents in the various profession, while promising to be the next Edo ambassador.

A total of 1,500 learners were produced by Edojobs out of which 330 followed, while 130 had a satisfactory level of follow-up and 30 followed the face to face learning. The next project will be launched in September 2022, with support from the French Embassy.

The Skillup Project is a partnership program between Edo State Government, the French Government, Larfarge and Wazobia Group.
