It was a night of tributes, merriment and networking by family, friends, colleagues and highfliers in government when the revenue chief, Edo State Internal Revenue Service, (EIRS), Hon. John Osagie Inegbedion marked his fiftieth birthday on Thursday, July 28, 2022.

Despite hitting the floor of the Uyi Grand Event Centre with his “Buga” dance steps, according to present popular pop culture, he however paused to welcome his boss, Governor Godwin Obaseki who motioned for the continuance of felicity at the occasion.

The celebrant who diligently welcomed and took photos with guests on individual basis informed disclosed that he felt very great and elated by the  turn up of family and friends.

“I am happy and thankful to God that  I am celebrating my golden jubilee birthday even when some people couldn’t make it. I thank God I am making it, and I am in good health,” he noted

His wife, Barr Winifred Inegbedion while praying for longevity for her husband declared her gratitude to God for making him a mentor.

“I am so impressed seeing him surrounded and appreciated in different forms by family and friends. It has made an impact on the younger ones  to be patient and helpful to people. It is a virtue one should keep as a child of God.”

The Director, Other Revenue, EIRS, Mrs. Grace Ainabe while speaking on the quality of the celebrant, emphasized that he is, “A wonderful person and a great boss whom you can rely on anytime. Since he came, he has changed the face of EIRS.

“Aside being a mentor, he is a man of figures. Since he came on board, the revenue has continued to grow. We celebrate him at 50y,” the Director, Technical Services, EIRS, Mr. Okoruwa Osaretin noted.

“Birthdays are important events in the life of every man but when you are celebrating a golden jubilee, (50yrs), it is an important and remarkable event. We actually need to congratulate the Chairman, Internal Generated Revenue (IGR,) Edo State, for attaining this age. It is also an opportunity to do better. He is a go-getter,” Zonal Manager, EIRS, Patrick Iluebey added,

According to him, “He is a man of great vision; a man of many parts, of integrity and a man of the people. He has achieved so much at his age. He believes in developing human beings. Even at the EIRS, our staff are very grateful for the kind of leadership he gives.”
