The Reforms of Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to transform the Communication Eco System has received international recognition with the conferment of African Media Organization Award winner 2022 on the Nigerian Observer by The Voice African Newsmagazine in the Netherlands.

A statement by the Award Committee signed by the Publisher/Editor in Chief, The Voice Magazine, Pastor Ambassador Elvis Iruh disclosed that the award was a unanimous choice because of the tremendous contributions to the rebirth and development of the media in Nigeria since the inception of the Nigerian Observer on May 29th 1968.

“Probably one of the few remaining state government publications that have passed the test of time and still remain relevant to the people in terms of news gathering today in Nigeria with a global appeal. We are proud to showcase your ingenuity to Africans and friends of Africa during this event in the Gambia from August 18th to 20th 2022.

“Your journalism practice has produced many of the best journalists in the country who have gone to do greater things for the country and the African continent in general. With a humble beginning, the newspaper has grown with tide of things to digital publication now.

“Through your perseverance, your publication online is attracting the younger generation to admire and desire to be a journalist. The Voice Achievers award will assemble other Africans and friends of Africa to honour you and appreciate your innumerable contributions to humanity and the advancement of Africa through media.

“This award will be bestowed on you at a ceremony slated for August 20th 2022 at Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre, Banjul, the Gambia. Your success is not limited to the media space alone, you are a worthy African organization that showcases the pride of living and working in Edo State, Nigeria, promoting success stories to create and to bring positive image for the country and the Africa continent and strengthen its economy

“As you share the award podium with the President of the Republic of the Gambia, His Excellency, Mr. Adama Barrow and other distinguished awardees in this year’s ceremony, the Voice Award Committee congratulates your organization and the government of Edo State on this additional recognition to all that you represent.
