Lagos – A former Inspector General of Police, Mustafa Adebayo Balogun, popularlyknown as Tafa Balogun is dead.
Authoritative source revealed that the former IGP died at Reddington Hospital in Lagos on Thursday.
The details about the cause of his death was not immediately known as at the time of report but source revealed that he had been having health problem for some weeks.
It would be recalled that Mr. Balogun was the Inspector General of Police during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Also, he had issue with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which was headed by Mr Nuhu Ribadu on alleged fund misappropriation.
His arrest by the EFCC operatives generated lots of controversies from people on the way and manner he handled as he was handcuffed and embarrassed by the Operatives.
Shortly after his court trial, he went underground and nothing much was heard about him till his demise.
