As Edo State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Comrade Philip Shaibu, celebrates his 53rd birthday in grand style, his boss cum principal, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, has described him as a sporting, good man who is very courageous.
The Governor gave the commendation when he spoke with Journalists at the Benin Golf Course,shortly after performing the ceremonial tee – off of a golf tournament, organized by the Benin Club in honour of Shaibu on his birthday anniversary.
According to Obaseki, ” l wish God to keep him strong to continue exhibiting the good person he is and enjoy many more years”.
” My Deputy and l share the same values; we believe in God and the service of our people”.
“Shaibu typifies a true Edo man and very courageous. He speaks his mind to issues as he sees them – very humane”.
“So, he has never been a challenge working with him and other members of the team. And we have been like this for more than 10 years”, Obaseki added.
The highly elated Deputy Governor noted: “It’s a thing of joy and I’m so excited because God has been very merciful”.
“Seeing all the golfers around right now, taking part in the game makes me more excited and happy”.
“Looking back at the journey so far, there have been lots of experiences and lessons learnt. And these have made me strong, going forward”.
Shaibu admonished Nigerians not to be discouraged about the present challenges but look up to God to salvage the nation from its predicaments.
In her comments, the Deputy Governor’s wife, Comrade Mrs. Maryann Philip-Shaibu described her husband as the “best man, father, companion and friend in the world”.
“He’s a father and husband like no other”, she added.
