IBADAN - Mr. Bolaji Adebiyi, Special Assistant to the President on Political Matters, has attributed the slow pace of President Umaru Yar’Adua’s administration to “careful planning.”
Adebiyi said this in Ibadan on Tuesday while delivering an address at the public presentation of two books written by a South African-based Nigerian author, Mr. Omoseye Bolaji.
Adebiyi said that careful planning would ensure that the implementation of the 7-point agenda of Mr. President transformed the country.
While acknowledging the complaints of Nigerians regarding the slow pace, he said the President himself was equally conscious of people’s anxiety about his administration.
He said the President was working hard to fast-track the planning processes of his seven-point agenda.
Adebiyi said that Nigerians would soon experience a boom in their political and social economic lives.
He urged Nigerians to embrace the due process policy which, he noted, had been the pivot of President Umaru Yar’Adua’s administration.
“It is the deviation from established rules, procedures and regulations that has breed corruption which is now the bane of our country’s development,’’ Adebiyi said.
”“His (Yar’Adua’s) thesis is that abridgement of processes has distorted the order of things in the system and the only way to correct the distortions is to return to the rules for proper guidance,” he said.
