GUSAU – The National Agricultural Payment Initiative (NAPI), Zamfara office says that no fewer than 15,000 farmers have so far registered under the initiative in the state.
Alhaji Abdullahi Nakwada, the representative of NAPI, made the information known at the formal presentation of awards to best stakeholders of the programme in the state.
Nakwada said under the initiative, farmers enjoyed services in the areas of agricultural input, tractor hiring insurance, among others.
He said “15,000 registered farmers have procured their e-wallet cards which they will use in buying agricultural inputs and to patronise some other services, including agricultural cashless transactions.”
Nakwada explained that the programme which commenced recently in the state was targeting to reach between 400,000 and 500,000 farmers.
