AUCHI – The peaceful Auchi town in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State was recently thrown into mourning and apprehension following the dastard killing of three persons by suspected daredevil cultists.
The victims, Mrs. Ehigie Esther, Mrs. Adesuwa Itohan and Mr. Kenneth Madu who were killed were said to have fell preys to the armed cultists who investigation revealed came looking for their target, one Ehigie Friday Michael.
It was scooped that the daredevil cult boys had trailed him now at large from Lagos to Auchi following Michael’s decision to renounce his membership of the notorious cult group ( Eiye confraternity), just as Michael’s younger sister, miss Ehigie Gladis was said to had narrowly escaped death by whiskers in the hands of the suspected thugs.
It was learnt by The NIGERIAN OBSERVER correspondent that troubled started when Ehigie Friday Michael, who was a student of University of Lagos (Distance Learning Institute) Akoka Yaba and on several occasions received beatings of his life his earlier refusal to join the cult group, having been approached by members of the gang.
A source privy to the incident who maintained strict confidentiality told our crime correspondent that upon several beatings by the Eiye boys, Michael allegedly reported his ordeal to his school management where nothing was done by the school to abate the situation.
The prevailing sad situation according to the source forced Michael to join the group, after his friend, one Olamide Ibrahim, who is a member of the same secret cult group had brain-washed him (Michael) with the seemingly benefit of being a member of the group.
The source added that after the discovery of group’s nefarious activities, Michael decided to renounce his membership of the group, this according our source infuriated members of the secret cult, warned him of the severe consequences of his action.
Following several attempts and threats made by the secret cult on Michael’ life, Ehigie Friday Michael was forced to report the matter with evidence of the group’s nefarious activities in a video recorded killings of two young men to the police at Yaba, Lagos state, who later arrested two suspects in connection with the development.
The police, however, requested Michael to testify against the suspect in court and would be protected against the cultists’ group, on learning of Michael plan with the police, the cultist group got bitter and angry so they declared Michael wanted, “dead alive”, the source stated.
Michael ran to Auchi in Edo state where his mother was also taken to because of her ailing health.
It was scooped further that the dreaded secret cult boys trailed him to Auchi and hacked his sick mother, Mrs. Ehigie Esther and her caregiver, Mrs. Adesuwa Itohan to death three days later, they further inflicted various degrees of injuries on Michael’s friend, Kenneth Madu who later died on his way to the hospital.
