MAIDUGURI – The 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri on Sunday announced a 24-hour curfew on Maiduguri, following suspected insurgents’ attacks near the city.
The Spokesman of the Division, Col. Sani Usman, said this in a statement he signed and issued in Maiduguri.
He stated that “be informed of the imposition of a curfew on Maiduguri immediately.
“The curfew will remain till further notice.’’
Insurgents had attempted to gain entrance into Maiduguri through Jimtilo, on Maiduguri-Kano road on Saturday night, but it was learnt that the attempt was repelled by the military.
