Favour is an act of kindness performed or granted out of goodwill. it is preferential treatment shown to somebody. When a man finds favour in the sight of God, that man will cease to struggle for anything he desires. All that he can ever ask for or imagine will be granted to him, not because he deserves it, but because he has found favour. The person operating under favour may not be qualified for blessing, but he gets blessed all the same simply because he has obtained favour.
In this study, I will be revealing ten factors that can activate divine favour in a man’s life. I must however let you know that the underlying factor that covers all the factors we will be talking about in this study is the consciousness of God’s presence. Anything that is done outside this consciousness is carnal and has no reward. We have been blessed by God with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Eph 1:3. Although this blessing is there already, it can only operate in the consciousness of God’s presence. Consciousness of God’s presence is what creates the right climatology for being blessed. Everything God created thrives in its given ecology. Outside the pre-ordered geography or ecology, the organism will struggle and may even die without reaching its full potential. Our ecology as sons of God is heavenly places. We thrive when we dwell perpetually in heavenly places. Heaven is not a geographic location, but is a place where God dwells. The presence of God is thus the factor that gives heaven its name. Those that will enjoy divine favour are those that are sitted together with Christ in the heavenly places. Until your mind begins to picture heaven at all time, you are sitted outside the heavenly and so will still not enjoy divine favour. Form the presence of God there is fullness of joy, at His right hand are pleasures for evermore. You enjoy this fullness of joy and perpetual pleasures by favour, and the primary qualification for this divine favour is dwelling constantly in the consciousness of God’s presence.
In this volume of the Divine Intimacy bulletin, we will take a look at five factors that activate favour in a man’s life, and in next week’s issue we will take the concluding five factors.
SALVATION This is the primary factor that can activate favour. Salvation is deliverance from sin and the consequences of sin through Jesus Christ’s death on the cross. It is a free gift to all of mankind and anyone who accepts this gift becomes born  again and becomes transformed from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. The Bible says in 2Cor. 5:17: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are becomes new. The man that is saved thus becomes a brand new man. His past is forgotten and he begins a brand new life right from the day of his salvation. Once you become born again, favour automatically rests on you. Favour is a birthright of children of the kingdom and so your acceptance of salvation is also an acceptance of favour.
Acts 2:41, 47: Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
We see in the scripture above that those who believed the gospel and became saved found favour with all people. You begin to enjoy favour from both men and women when you accept God’s free offer of salvation, If you want to begin to enjoy favour from God and from man, then you must take this all important step today. Salvation attracts favour.
MERCY: Mercy is compassion, kindness or forgiveness shown especially to somebody  a person has power over. When you are merciful i.e. show mercy to people, favour will locate you. You will enjoy favour from men also enjoy divine favour. When you pardon a guilty person, you have shown mercy and have qualified yourself for favour.
Prov. 3:34: Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine head: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
When you are merciless and heartless, you will not find favour. Being merciful helps you to find favour even when others cannot find it.
TRUTH: Truth is living a life of honesty and sincerity. Favour is attracted to those that are always truthful. When you stand for the truth at all time, the truth will certainly set you free at the end. It may look like you are in trouble at the beginning, but before the end of the episode, favour will speak out on your behalf. Telling the truth at all times activates both human and divine favour in your life.
Prov. 3:3-4: Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine head: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
Make up your mind to always be truthful. Your resolve should be that you would rather die telling the truth than become caught up in a web of lies and deceit. The devil is the father of all liars and all liars shall have their part in the lake of fire. You  speak truth always, you will certainly live a life of favour.
GOODNESS This is the quality of being good. It is the quality of having or showing a kind and generous disposition. Being good to people is yet another factor that can activate favour. When you are good, you find favour everywhere you go, even in the most unlikely quarters. People will favour you even if you don’t have a personal relationship with them.
Prov. 11:21: He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour:  but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.
Your goodness is a currency for procuring favour. When you are good to people around you, favour will be handed over to you.
Prov. 12:2: A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.
When you are in the habit of showing goodness to everyone around you, even to those who don’t deserve it, then you will be qualified for favour that comes from God.
CORRECT MARRIAGE: The bible says in Prov. 18:22: Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.
As long as a person is unmarried, there is a limit to what he can achieve in life. He will certainly not get to his full potential. God that Instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden did so because He realized that it was not good for man to be alone Gen. 2:18. Woman was therefore made to complement man’s effort. Finding and marrying the right partner is therefore a ticket to living a life of favour. Right from the day the two people become one, God smiles on them and they begin to achieve results with minimal effort.
You must take note however that not all marriages are correct ones. If God does not sanction your marriage, then you will be making terrible mistakes by going into it.  Such a marriage will end in bitterness and regret no matter how appealing it looks at the beginning. When you are married to someone who is not a carrier of favour, you will be dis-favoured. May you not step into a matrimonial relationship that will separate you from the favour of the Lord.
