IRRUA – The Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Edoror has promised to use his office to lay legacies that generations unborn would cherish.
Edoror made the assertion at the palace of the Okaijesan of Esanland, HRH Alhaji William Momodu II in Irrua, the administrative headquarter of Esan Central Local Government Area during a courtesy visit to the palace.
The Speaker said he was overwhelmed by the reception accorded him by the traditional ruler, his palace chiefs and the people of Irrua, noting that his elevation as Speaker of the State House of Assembly is for the interest of the people, particularly the Esan people.
He assured the people of the state that the Sixth   Assembly would pass laws and resolutions that would impact positively on the lives of the people of the state.
According to him, the Assembly would partner the State Executive arm of government in order to sustain and improve on the pace of development being witnessed in the state, saying it is a demonstration of the hardwork and commitment of the present administration of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
He further stated that the state parliament will be alive to its duties and as well carry out its over-sight functions with every sense of responsibility, while promising to run an open door policy.
The Speaker expressed his appreciation to the people of Esan Central Local Government Area for electing him as their representative and thanked the members of the 6th Assembly for electing him as their Speaker, assuring that he would not betray their trust and confidence.
Edoror used the occasion to present his official portrait to the Okaijesan of Esanland HRH Alhaji William Momodu II, the Onojie of Irrua.
Welcoming the Speaker, the traditional ruler described Edoror as a worthy son of Irrua land who has effectively represented the people at the State House of Assembly.
Congratulating him for his elevation as Speaker of the State Assembly, he urged him to cooperate with the State Governor in the task of transforming the state.
Similarly, the Speaker also paid a courtesy call on High Chief David Osara, the Isekhure of Irrua Kingdom to appreciate him and the people of Idumebo-Irrua for their support during the polls and promised to use his office for the interest of the people.
The Speaker had earlier been received by thousands of supporters at the entry point into Irrua to mark his first home coming as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
