BENIN CITY –  As part of efforts to recognize hardwork and contributions to the country, Edo State Government have sworn-in the Rector, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Dr. (Mrs.) Philipa Omame Idogho as Justice of Peace (JP) in the State.
The Rector who would have been sworn-in last week alongside other recipients of the prestigious award was granted leave by the Chief Judge of Edo State, Justice Cromwell Idahosa to attend to her official engagement in Abuja.
The recipient, accompanied by her husband, Dr Nelson Idogho who is also a Justice of  Peace subscribed to the relevant oath of allegiance of the Justice of Peace before she was sworn-in as JP by the state Chief Judge at the hall of High Court 1 in Benin City.
Speaking briefly at the ceremony, the Chief Judge urged the recipient to further ensure the peace and tranquility in her domain, even as    he asked her to take advantage of the lectures delivered to them by Justice E.A. Edigin during their induction.
In her remarks, the Rector assured the Chief Judge that she would uphold the oath of allegiance she just subscribed to by ensuring that her personal interest does not surpass that of  her office.
She described the award as a rare privilege and expressed appreciation to the government and good people of the state for counting her worthy of the prestigious award of a JP.
The ceremony was attended by some top management staff of the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Christian members, as well as friends and well-wishers.
Highlights of the ceremony was the presentations of certificate of Justice of  Peace to the recipient by the Chief Judge.
