BENIN CITY- Secretary to Edo State Government Prof. Julius Ihonvbere has said steps will be taken   to ensure that unnecessary delays in the implementation of resolutions passed at the state House of Assembly are addressed and curbed appropriately.
The need for relevant stakeholders to ensure that resolution from Edo state House of Assembly are religiously implemented took centre stage when members of the House Standing Committee on Rules, Business and Government House, paid a familiarization visit to the SSG, yesterday in Government House.
The eight-man committee was led by its chairman and majority leader of the House, Hon Foly Ogedegbe.
Prof. Ihonvbere who took time to brief the  committee members on the activities of his office, expressed his commitment to continually operate open door policy, as well as ensure efficiency and effectiveness for the good of Edo people.
The SSG said he was pleased to see the committee based on the singular fact that they were credible people and their actions demonstrate that the House is a proactive one.
According to the chairman, House standing committee on Rules, Business and Government House, Hon. Foly Ogedegbe the visit by the committee members is part of their oversight function.
He said it was designed to formally introduce themselves to the SSG as well as listen to their challenges for possible solutions.
Contributing, Hon. Bright Osayande decried the non –implementation of some resolutions reached at the House by relevant stakeholders which he noted was not in the best interest of the state.
