BENIN CITY – The Executive Chairman, the Edo State Internal Revenue Services,(EIRS) Chief Sir Oseni Elamah has emphasized the important role of Scout Association of Nigeria (SAN) in Tax administration.
He made this known when he played host to the association members who were on excursion visit to the agency in Benin City.
Chief Elamah stressed the need for partnership between the EIRS and SAN using the body as a pointer to reaching members, parents/relations on the need to adhere to tax payment.
This he said will enable the government ensure the necessary environment for the youths who he described as the nation’s future leaders, just as he assured the body that he would not disappoint them on his  investiture as patron, bestowed on him during the visit.
Earlier, the SAN leader, Livenus Anyanwu, said besides the body’s usual activities they also deemed it necessary to engage members on meaningful excursions to reputable agencies.
Anyanwu stated that the idea would enable them acquire new innovation, education, and enlightenment with a view to acquiring first hand information that would help broaden their knowledge, hence the visit to Edo State Internal Revenue Service which he said has impacted positively in the development stride of Edo State.
He said they were on the visit to EIRS to tap from the wealth of experience of the EIRS boss, judging by the training in physical, mental and leadership skills the scouts were undergoing.
They were however conducted round the various departments of the EIRS including the Tax Identification Number (TIN) office by the Executive Director of other Revenues, Prince Felix Isuku who sensitized the visitors on the importance of TIN.
High point of the visit was the conferment on Chief Elamah, the patron of 1st Oredo Scout Troop.
