ASABA – Chief Hyacinth Enuha, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State on Thursday said by next week the party will start new revalidation and registration of members of the APC nationwide.
Enuha stated this when Mr Victor Sorokwu, an APC Aspirant for Delta State House of Assembly in the Aniocha South Constituency with his team, paid him a consultation visit in Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state.
He disclosed that the ruling party is set for “everybody to get new membership cards and it is with this card that all members will elect those who will represent them from the primaries before the 2019 general elections.
“In this way, you don’t need to have all the money to pay the delegates, because all registered members of the party in your locality will vote and as such, they can’t be bribed.
“With this, you don’t have to have all the millions, it will be a test of popularity from the grassroots, so my advise is that you go back to the people and mobilize to test your popularity,” Enuha assured that the party primaries in Delta state would be free and fair.
Enuha said that with the APC Primaries: Nobody will be oppressed, adding: “we shall have direct primaries in Delta, where only the popular candidates would emerge during the party primaries.
Besides, he said that the era of delegate conference had gone with true democracy entrenched in the APC.
He said that the APC would have direct primaries, adding that every minority group in the party would collapse because only the popular candidates would emerge irrespective of factions.
Earlier, Comrade Victor Sorokwu said that he came to consult with the party leader to make his intentions known and to assure him that he was a grassroots politician and would deliver.
Sorokwu, a journalist turned politician, however, urged Enuha’ to support him and ensure that the primaries were hitch free in the Aniocha South constituency of the state.
