Uhunmwode — It was a busy day for workers of the federal road maintenance agency(FERMA)on Wednesday as they embarked on the repair of failed portions along the benin Agbor road by the bypass at Ikhueniho, and at Abudu before the bridge.

The workers who defied a downpour to fix the ever busy road received commendations from motorists and other road users plying it.

According to a FERMA official, the palliative work was to ameliorate the sufferings of road users who usually have hectic time passing the road.

He appealed to those using the road to be patient, as the agency is working on permanent solution to the problem.

“the spots are so diplorable, hence we need to fix it so vehicles can move well, and reduce the stress of plying the road.

“This is not a permanent solution”, the official who graved anonymity told our correspondent

speaking on the development, a truck driver who simply identified himself as Amisu lauded the agency, saying “it would have been worse” before the dry season.

Also, a trader in the area who prefer to remain anonymous commmended FERMA, as she maintained that the situation of the road negatively affected her business.

“No more hold-up; people fit pack well patronize me. they (FERMA) try, but them need to do am solid”, she added.
