WARRI – Tragedy struck last weekend when Chief Executive Officer of Noble Ocean Hotel in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, Noble Iteme, allegedly beat his security guard to death for allegedly stealing phones.

The security guard, who was identified Godstime Sunday, aged 31, was beaten mercilessly, and macheted in the head by able bodied men on the orders of the hotelier in the hotel premises.

NIGERIAN OBSERVER, gathered that the security guard, who had been absent from duty when some armed robbers allegedly invaded the hotel was suspected of complicity by his boss.

Late Godstime whose explanation was allegedly not satisfactory why he was absent from work on the day of the robbers invasion, was therefore, ordered to be beaten up by his boss, Noble Iteme, perhaps to confess, when he was unable to give a genuine reason for his absence.

In no time, the 31-year-old guard sustained some machete cuts in his head and began to bleed profusely.

As soon as the Hotelier noticed that the security guard was bleeding profusely, he quickly contacted the police to come and arrest the guard.

It was gathered that, before the arrival of the police operatives, Sunday had bled to death.

So, the hotelier, who called the attention of the police, was subsequently arrested for alleged murder.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident.

He said that the deceased died of machete wounds which he sustained in the head while he was being battered with a machete.

“He was accused of stealing handsets in the hotel. While they were trying to make him confess, he was beaten to a pulp with machete cuts on his head. He died in the hospital.

“The hotel owner was arrested on the strength of his being the one that initiated the attack on the boy.

“The hotel owner is presently at the State CID in Asaba,” he noted.
