In a manner of finality, Edo State Commissioner of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives, Hon Afie Braimoh, has lent her voice to the growing number of those who have praised the state government on the ongoing urban renewal projects in Owan East local government area
The state government is currently undertaking a huge urban renewal of public infrastructure in Owan, covering three critical areas such as public institutions and health, roads and power generation.
And, in a rare gesture of clapping with more than two hands, Ms Braimoh, has scored the state government high on infrastructure renewal, noting the effort to give Owan East a major facelift is a welcome development.
Perhaps, taking a cue from a viral achievements of governor Obaseki posted on the social media by an elated Owan East indigene, in which he showcased the various renewal projects being executed by the Obaseki administration, Hon Braimoh noted that was only a “tip of the iceberg”, adding more is in the offing and enjoined the people to continue to support the administration.
The viral post drew quite a lot of positive comments from a cross section of Owan East residents, with majority of them praising the actions of the state government.
By her admission, Hon Braimoh confirmed the contents of the viral post, stating Obaseki is sincere and committed in giving the state and its people a new lease of life with the provision of modern basic amenities.
An elegant Hon Braimoh, greatly admired for her stunning beauty and also liberally endowed with intellect, a fact gradually becoming obvious to many, described the social media post as a ” “true reflection” of the state of affairs in Owan East.
The viral post captured the series of both ongoing and completed projects and painted a “rosy” picture of what Owan East would look like by the time the projects are commissioned for public use.
Among the public infrastructures experiencing major face-lifts includes the popular Afuze Technical College; Odion Primary School, Uokha; Emai Primary School; Agbolosun Primary School, Warake; Ivbigun Primary School, Ohanmi and, Emokpaire Primary School, Ivbiaro.
For instance, the old and decrepit Iyakhara primary health centre, PHC, now wears a modern look, complete with a 24 hour solar powered equipments and borehole.
And, in furtherance of its pledge to dispense equity and ensure even distribution of patronages, the Obaseki administration equally embarked on some tangible projects such as the major roads, the renewal of major township roads and streets, including side drains in Owan East.
Even the viral post listed the following roads and streets as having been either rehabilitated or reconstructed: Osugua street in Afuze; Oba Salifu Elabor road in Ivbiaro; Araromi and Iziogba streets, also in Afuze; Afuze – Ihievbe – Igue – Otuo road, while renovation work is currently ongoing on the Anama, Ogute, Idesa, Otuajabor and Agugbodor power stations, in a bid to boost power supply and business activities in the locality
Interestingly, Hon Braimoh, on her part, is redoubling efforts to ensure MSME’s in the state are rebranded and revitalised to play a more active role in economic growth.
On a more personal note, Hon Braimoh is leading the change to boost the capacity of local MSME’s to adequately respond to the promotion of “made in Edo goods and services” mantra.
